The debut project from writer/artist Jan-Michael Franklin, Deadly Artisans promises a return to the classic action and drama that won over so many comic book fans in the 1980’s. However, with a modern edge sharpened by 21st century hot-button issues such as government cover-ups, deadbeat fathers, serial murder, and interracial marriage.

Deadly Artisans takes readers inside the lives of husband and wife team Malcolm and Sierra Irons. After an unfortunate incident, The U.S. government rebuilt the couple into the ultimate killing machines, carrying the code names Tangent and Stiletta. Their sole purpose is to eliminate the most dangerous and elusive criminal threats on United States soil. No trials, no questions, and no choices. Thrust into this impossible situation, the Irons struggle with their new role, ultimately having only each other for support. As more details about the program that resurrected them are revealed, the Irons gradually lose trust in the government they once served so faithfully. “Fans of Appleseed or comics like The Matador will enjoy Deadly Artisans, but the book is unlike anything else on the stands,” said Franklin.

Produced entirely by Franklin, and published by Epsalon Press, Deadly Artisans is a 110-page graphic novel produced in full color.
